RESEARCH AT BIOFABRICA

In Biofabrica Siglo XXI we aim for the social and economical development of the Mexican agricultural fields using technologies that restore the ecological equilibrium to the environment.

Our development axis is innovation and for this reason we are a scientifically based company that operates on two mechanisms in the search of new solutions for Mexican agricultural fields: 1) By own research and 2) By articulating institutional research with agricultural production. These mechanisms allow us to stay on the cutting edge for the construction of sustainable alternatives for crop production and transforming intoproducts, solutions that have been in development for decades in the diverse research centers across the country.

WE ARE A SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL COMPANY

In 2007 we obtained a National Registry as a Scientific and Technological Company (RENIECYT) granted by the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACyT) necessary to obtain financial support for research.

OUR PROJECTS

As a scientific and technological company, we actively participate in research focused in finding biotechnological solutions for Mexican agriculture. Some of the main projects we are currently working on are:

  • Products and biotechnological process for controlling agricultural pests and disease.
  • Products and biotechnological process to improve the profitability and sustainability of agricultural crops.
  • Integral strategies for promoting agricultural soil remediation.
  • Strategies for mitigating climate change through the capture of carbon in agricultural fields.
  • Strategies for a more efficient use of irrigation water in agricultural fields.

This work has allowed us to improve our products by increasing their efficiency, viability, shelf life and to develop new products (currently in evaluation and registration stage), as well as to participate in the publication of scientific research articles and several bachelor and postgraduate thesis.

DEVELOPING NEW BIOTECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS CUSTOMIZED FOR AGRICUTURAL FIELDS.

We are aware of the existence of numerous crop problems in the different regions of the country. The search for solutions for each problem usually represents a big investment both in time and financially, first in basic research and later to develop this research into an innovative product.

For this reason, our research and development mechanism based on creating collaborations with different research institutions allows the identification of the research groups that have the tools necessary to develop a solution or that already have a potential solution.

This mechanism allows us to create customized solutions more efficiently than by conventional methods.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Our Research and Development process is carried out in all stages, from scientific development to field validation. This type of biotechnological development requires the use of techniques and highly specialized equipment that can not be done in an artisanal manner.
